Strategic Volunteer Engagement: A Guide for Nonprofit and Public Sector Leaders
The RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service wishes to thank...
The Volunteer Champions Project which was funded by The Volunteer Impact Fund, was a collaborative project by Dr. Sarah Jane Rehnborg at the RGK Center with the assistance of Susan J. Ellis of Energize Inc., Betty Stallings of Building Better Skills, Jane Leighty Justis of the Leighty Foundation and Jackie Norris (ret.) of Denver's Metro Volunteers.
Utilizing a series of focus groups attended by executive directors in Austin, Texas, and Denver, Colorado, the project sought to discern the issues that impede nonprofit and public sector organizations from more effectively engaging volunteers. Strategic Volunteer Engagement: A Guide for Nonprofit and Public Sector Leaders emerged from this grant-funded work.
OneStar Foundation, the Texas home for AmeriCorps funding, nonprofit capacity building, and support organization designed to assist the State's growing nonprofit sector, saw the Guide as an invaluable resource to service organizations seeking more effective ways to engage volunteers. The OneStar Foundation generously provided the resources to underwrite the initial production of the print version of this Guide.
