Case Studies

Although case studies have become a staple within many college level classes, cases pertaining specifically to issues in volunteerism and volunteer management are more difficult to locate. The RGK Center is developing cases in volunteer management and will share these resources as they become available. In addition, other resources for securing cases are shared.

Go Volunteer Probono: Building the Case for Engaging Skilled Volunteers in Today’s Nonprofit Sector

This case study explores Volunteer Vancouver’s work in developing a market for skilled volunteer involvement in lower British Columbia, Canada. Attention is given to the ways in which specifically skilled volunteers supported the re-invention of the volunteer centre and the challenges in selling the idea to area nonprofits.
