Sanchez Elementary School Volunteer Recruitment and Management Strategy

 
George I. Sanchez Elementary School in East Austin works with many volunteers. Curtis Montague was placed by the AmeriCorps for Community Engagement and Education Program at the Charles A. Dana Center, through the VISTA program, to help Sanchez Elementary school improve its involvement of the community in the school, including how the school involved volunteers in a variety of settings.

Working with the Volunteerism and Community Engagement initiative staff at the Dana Center, Curtis developed these task descriptions, as well as a strategy for recruiting volunteers for these tasks.
