  The mission of community education in Austin is to provide quality programs for children that support and enhance school curriculum; to provide resources to schools to meet students' needs; and to connect Austin families and individuals with education resources made available at schools. Community Education provides services in three basic areas:

  • Youth Development - includes after-school child care and enrichment classes for children, and special projects such as those for youth in at-risk situations and children from homeless families. Victory Tutoring provides academic support for Austin Independent School District students.

  • Family Education - includes classes provided for the whole family in basic education, literacy, business, health, safety and fitness, all offered during off-school hours.

  • Coordination of the use of school facilities by the community - Allows for community use of school facilities for activities such as meetings, forums, sports leagues and other special events.
