A free tool by the Business Software Alliance you can download to a computer to check and see if there is any unlicensed software on the hardrive.
Note that some of these require a particular kind of computer or software. Also, be sure to read their privacy information carefully.
Be sure to read the privacy and ownership notices for any free site you are considering, and communicate what these mean to the organization you are assisting.
Also, look at the banner ad policy for these groups; the organization you are assisting may not want ads for certain products to be displayed when users visit the web site.
