information for researchers
If you are a university-based researcher and are interested in reviewing information gathered by the Virtual Volunteering Project via its various online surveys/feedback forms, please email the Project Supervisor, Sarah Jane Rehnborg at rehnborg@mail.utexas.edu, or call her phone at 512-475-7616 (in Austin, Texas). State the nature of your request and how the information would be used.
A draft executive summary of data gathered from online volunteers and agencies engaged in virtual volunteering, sent via our various online forms and surveys, is now available on our Web site.
You can see a list of organizations that have virtual volunteering programs, and descriptions of these programs, on the VV Project Web site. This list also includes organizations who have supported the VV Project with advice and expertise. Feel free to contact any of these organizations about their virtual opportunities, particularly the VV Project Affiliates, but please cc Jayne on initial correspondance (so she knows they have been contacted). We also offer a list of examples of experiences involving online volunteers and youth with disabilities, highlights of how volunteers and youth with disabilities are interacting with others via Cyberspace, to give you an idea of the limitless possibilities and benefits of virtual volunteering.
